Calreticulin is a calcium binding protein found in abundance in the endoplasmic reticulum and the sarcoplasmic reticulum. Like many other ER proteins, it has the conserved ER retention KDEL (Lys-Asp-Glu-Leu) sequence at its C-terminus.
